IMPORTANT! Premiere infomation!

Hi all!

We are working towards premiering Mo Chara

We are collecting the credits...  Anna has gone over the cast and crew list compiled below.

However, we still need you to look over it and check two things:
1.) that your name is spelled correctly
2.) that you are listed under the right cast and crew job!
If there are any errors, DON'T be shy!  We want to give credit were credit is due!

Please respond as soon as possible to epicsummermovie@gmail.com!  If you do not get back with us before 11/11/14, we will list it as is.

Blimey Cow

Most of the readers of the ESM blog have probably heard about Blimey Cow before, but we wanted to feature them on our site as they are Christian YouTube filmmakers.

If you have not heard about BC, we highly recommend you check them out. They have clean but  satirical, down-to-earth videos. Plus, they are fellow homeschoolers and many at ESM are homeschooled so we feel a connection to them.

They just posted a wonderful Valentine's Day themed video too!

To view their YouTube channel, click here. Prepare to be amazed.

Homeschool Performing Arts

We at ESM just wanted to do a quick shout-out to Homeschool Performing Arts (HPA) because......
Oliver!
opens this weekend in Kalamazoo!

 Wanna buy tickets? Go here!

A good portion of the cast from both Mo Chara and Ransomed either did or does HPA. This group has impressed us with its quality, God-centered performances. Not only are the directors leaders, they are also role models.

HPA has shows in Lansing, Grand Rapids, and Kalamazoo. If you are homeschooled in those areas and are interested in the performing arts, we highly recommend HPA.

Besides Oliver! there is Titanic and The Sound of Music... HPA Kids are doing Frog & Toad and Jungle Book

Desire more info about HPA??? Check out their site.

Movie Score

We need people who would be willing to volunteer to finish scoring the movie and/or sound edit it (foley, sound effects, general editing). Does anyone know someone or would they themselves be interested in helping us?

We are using a traditional feel for the music, also applying public domain songs like "Will You Go Lassie Go" and "Rocky Road to Dublin". Some of the movie has already been scored by Elmo Harris.

The score writer and sound editor would both get credit in the movie and on our blog and other social media sites. The final product will be shown a Lansing Celeblration! Cinema and sold on Amazon. We will possibly be selling the soundtrack separately and the profits would be shared with the score writers (the profits of the movie go to helping pay off our previous expenses).

Please email for more info at epicsummermovie@gmail.com

Costume Designer's Fashion Blog

Anna Parker, actress in both Ransomed and Mo Chara was also a costume designer for both movies. She recently began a blog about the importance of dressing modestly and how this can be done is a fashion-conscious way. It is a wonderful blog. Check it out by clicking here.

On a side note, I just finished tweaking the last scene for Mo Chara; all that is left is fine-tuning like sound, color, and score.

We're Not Dead Yet...

Stealing the quote from Monty Python, we are, in fact, "Not Dead Yet!".

We will finish this project, or DIE trying!

We have placed this project in God's hands and by putting our faith in Him, we will get this done!

Here are some photos from the shoots:

Why is it Taking So Long???

Lots of people have asked and wondered this question... us included!  I will give you some key factors as to why this movie is taking soooo long to premiere.

As with everything we do, we should always try to do better.  With Mo Chara we wanted improve upon the quality of film from our first project, Ransomed.  At times when you add improvements it can take longer to finish a project.

The key was to improve without overwhelming our Director. ;)  To do this, we asked friends to help with the editing process.  They were willing, but needed time to get the "hang" of the editing program.  We also had problems with the hard drives, as the Mo Chara project is so much larger than our last movie.  Problems solved... but time delayed!

General complications happen with every project, with Mo Chara, we have had to deal with everything from sickness (including the director having double pneumonia) to certain key people starting or returning to college.

Overall we are moving froward, slowly but surely, and will have the trailer out ASAP.  As far as our progress we are about 80% of the way through.  We have reviewed the rough cut of the movie with the editors, and the Director is working through the final edit.  The score remains up in the air, but should be completed this fall.

We are trying to release this project as soon as possible, YET everyone wants this movie to come out not just quickly... BUT well done!  On that note, we will keep you all posted.

In the mean time.... pray for this project, because.... as from the beginning.... this is His!

Andrew's Actor Bio.

Andrew, age 14, acted as a clansman in Mo Chara.

Andrew enjoys going on adventure trips such as, canoeing, hiking and biking.  He is also entertained by sleeping and laughing, but not at the same time!  (although his love of Duct Tape outshines them all!)
In school, Andrew likes American History, especially the Industrial Revolution.
His favorite day on the Mo Chara set was when the choreographers taught him how to fight on camera.
