Last Meeting

Our last meeting before filming went well yesterday! 
  We had make-up practicing making our actors look dirty so they seemed medieval. 
   Our costumes moved forward nicely.  We did a lot of fitting!
   The hut is almost finished.  We just have a little bit left on the roof and some walls to patch up. 
   We now have practiced most of our scenes.  They are looking wonderful and the actors are working well into delving their characters. 

  Less than a week until filming!!!

Costume Sewing Day 2/Hut Building

  Our second day of costume sewing went well.  We are perfecting the boys' costumes to ensure they look rough and rugged.  Also, the girl outfits are coming together nicely.  All in all, we chunked out a good deal of costumes.


  While us girls sewed, we had some boys out continuing the work on the hut.  Two of the actors and I had slept in the it the night before.  It has our approval (even without a full roof currently, luckily it didn't rain).

Costume Sewing

We had some costume sewers over today to work on getting our costumes done!  They are looking very cool.  

There were some minor delays when sewing machines wouldn't work or something needed to be ripped out and re-sewn, but they pushed past it and kept working! 






Here is a small sample of our costumes.  There is a second day tomorrow, please pray that it goes well!

Mo Cara's Prop List

With filming in less than a week we desperately need to find the props on the list below.  If you find them please let us know so we can tell the others searching for that item.  Note: that all props must look as if they came from Medieval Ireland.

Decorative accents for bedrooms and living room

Arbor for wedding

Flint and Firestone (can be fake but must look realistic)

Second to last meeting

Our second-to-last meeting went well today. 
   The hut is moving forward nicely.  We are currently thatching the roof and weaving cattails through the walls.  (Hopefully we will get some pictures up soon - it looks pretty cool!)
   Costumes spent the day busily sewing and altering clothes.  We have some beautiful dresses for our characters (huge sleeves!!!) and are working on getting our guys epicly attired.

   Our make-up artist practiced scars on one of the characters.  He looked nice and beat-up afterwards! 
   We got through a good amount of scenes with our acting today.  Hyping up the emotion and deepening the characters.
   While practice-filming another scene, we worked on getting camera movement and deciding how to film everything.
   Only two more weeks until filming!

July 23rd Meeting

The Epic Summer Movie group met today to work on pre-production for Mo Chara.  This is the fifth meeting this year. 

A portion of the tech crew got to work with storyboards today and filmed one of the scenes while the actors practiced.  This is the first time this year we worked together with actors and tech, which is exciting! 

The costumes are moving forward well.  We have a data-base set up to help us keep track of our many pieces of clothing.  We also are brainstorming ideas and are thinking through everyone's costumes.

Sets also moved forward quite a bit too.  Our set builders worked on weaving the walls of our old Irish hut, and harvested cat-tails and grasses for the structure.  It is looking awesome!

Only three more weeks till filming!
