Moi Davidson's Actor Bio!

Moi Davidson, age 17, plays Coinneach O’Súileabháin, whom he thinks was the most enjoyable character he has ever played.  Moi is interested in history and military strategy.  His other acting experiences include acting in Epic Summer Movie’s Ransomed, and preforming in Homeschool Performing Arts’ “Brigadoon” and “The Wizard of Oz”.  His favorite part of making Mo Chara was acting and hanging out with his friends.  In school Moi enjoys studying  history, and his favorite historical character is Robert E. Lee.

Nathan's Bio!

Epic Summer Movie interviewed actor Nathan Stoll (age 17, who played Eamonn, Aibhlinn’s older brother in Mo Chara) to gain insight about his life, thoughts, and interests.

What do you think about your character?
“I think he is trying to take care of what is significant, but he has a hard time understanding what is really important.”
What are your interests?
Building things, football, biking, and listening to music.
What are your other acting experiences?
I have preformed in various dramatic interpretations, small plays, skits and musicals.
What was your favorite part in the making of Mo Chara?
Learning how to ride a horse bare back, which I really appreciated; I would like to thank the Hubble family for teaching me.
What are your favorite subjects in school?
History and Theology.

What are your favorite types of music?

 I enjoy Christian pop-punk and heavy metal music.

We really appreciated Nathan’s flexible attitude and fun personality in the making of this film.

Welcome to the Post Production phase of Mo Chara!

Some of you might be asking: What is post production and why is it important?

Post production is EXTREMELY important to ensure great quality in a film, because this is when we put the film together.  It is the part of film making that takes place after the filming occurs.  Post production takes longer to complete than the actually shooting of the film.  There are numerous steps that take place during post production; some of these include: linking takes together, creating trailers, correcting color quality, syncing sound to video, composing and adding score to the film, plus creating special features for the DVD.

Bonfire Celebration!

The majority of the cast and crew from Epic Summer Movie celebrated the end of filming Mo Chara with a bonfire last night.  It was extremely awesome!  We had over 40 people attend and hang out over the evening.  Unfortunately, we were lax in the photography department and don't have any pics currently to show how much fun it was.  But, it was a great evening with good food and friends.

Last Day of Filming

He's THE DOG!

Today was our last day of filming.  *tears*  The last day of shooting a project is bitter-sweet.  Sweet because we can now get proper rest.  Bitter because it marks the end of summer, the end of seeing friends every day, the end of fun work....yeah, there are a lot of reasons to be sad.  But, it is now onto the real work, AKA editing.

We had a short day of filming, which, for the most part, stayed on schedule.  We started early, though, so that must have had something to do with it.  

Thanks again to Central United Methodist Church for letting us film at their facility.  

The lighting today was nice.  Car sounds were frustrating, but we can fix those in post-production.  We worked with Mack, as you can tell from our photos.  He had one of his best days.  He must be tired.

The movie is expected to be released next spring.  Keep checking the blog and FB page to stay updated on editing and to get exciting sneak-peeks and insider info!

Today we filmed our last three scenes in the kitchen.  They all went well!  We had some excitement between herb chopping, bread kneading, and staged slaps.  The shots looked good, except when the sun was shining.  Never thought I would ask the sun to go away on a filming day.  Tomorrow is our last day of filming!   I'm looking forward to sleeping in on Thursday, although I'm going to miss filming.
