hopefully memorized
* Sack lunch/dinner/snack
if you are going to stay to hang out and/or for the bonfire time
When you arrive:
When you come to auditions, an usher will be available to guide you through:
*Picture & Height
ESM will take a picture of you
and measure your height
*Paperwork
General Form - that asks:
- availability,
- former acting experience,
- desired acting level
Media Release
- you fill it out
- needs to be signed by your parents, and
- brought the next time you attend an ESM meeting.
After the person auditioning before you is finished, you will be ushered to the audition area.
During Auditions:
You will be ushered to the audition area.
*Filming
One of the Casting Crew will start a camera
note: you will be filmed during your entire audition
*Main Audition Piece
When directed:
- State your name, then
- Recite the provided lines
giving them whatever emotion you choose
it is preferable you have them memorized
*Possible Other Audition Part
- The Casting Crew then may or may not ask you to:
re-recite the lines with a directed emotion, or
read different lines and coach you on how to say them.
After Auditions:
When the Casting Crew is finished with your time slot, they will dismiss you. You may stay afterward for just-for-fun hang-out time with other “auditionees”. This is optional and will not affect your audition status. The Casting Crew will join this fun if time permits in between auditions. During this time, you may ask the Director or other ESM people questions to gain more info.
Director’s Note:
Auditions are very nerve-racking for those who are auditioning, but they are almost as nerve-racking for the Casting Crew. So if you have the jitters, just remember you’re in good company.
